Appliance Reset Checklist

Appliance deep cleans are designed to improve cleanliness, hygiene and overall appearance by tackling accessible build-up, grease, grime, limescale and food residue.


This checklist applies to appliance deep cleaning services, including ovens, hobs, extractor hoods, microwaves, refrigerators, kettles and other household appliances where deeper cleaning and degreasing may be required.

Health & safety: Appliance cleaning will only be carried out where it is safe to do so. We follow product safety guidance, appliance care instructions and manufacturer guidelines where available. We may refuse or stop a clean if an appliance appears faulty, damaged, unsafe, heavily contaminated or unsuitable for the cleaning method required.

What’s Included

Washing Machine

  • Accessible exterior areas cleaned
  • Door, drum and seal cleaned, including accessible mould removal where possible
  • Detergent drawer removed and cleaned where suitable
  • Filter cleaned out where safely accessible
  • Drum clean cycle started where suitable and agreed

Dishwasher

  • Accessible exterior areas cleaned
  • Door and seals cleaned, including accessible mould removal where possible
  • Filter removed and cleaned where safely accessible
  • Rinse aid and dishwasher salt topped up if supplied and agreed
  • Dishwasher clean cycle run where suitable

Tumble Dryer

  • Accessible exterior areas cleaned
  • Lint filters removed and cleaned
  • Accessible areas hoovered out

Please note: This is a general clean of accessible lint and debris only. Significant lint build-up may require a professional tumble dryer technician or specialist lint removal service. Lint build-up can be a fire hazard and should be checked by a qualified professional where there are concerns.

Fridge

  • Drawers and shelves removed and washed where suitable
  • Inside of fridge cleaned to remove accessible build-up and debris
  • Accessible exterior areas cleaned, including the top where reachable
  • Shelves and drawers replaced once clean and dry

Freezer

  • Freezer drawers removed and washed where suitable
  • Freezer left to defrost where agreed and safe to do so
  • Inside cleaned once defrosted
  • Drawers replaced once clean and dry
  • Accessible exterior areas cleaned, including the top where reachable

Please note: Fridges and freezers must be emptied beforehand. We cannot take responsibility for food storage, spoiled food or items left inside during cleaning.

Oven Clean

Oven Basic Clean

  • Oven racks and any baking or grill trays removed and cleaned
  • Inside of oven and oven door degreased where suitable
  • Accessible exterior areas cleaned

Oven Deep Clean

  • Oven racks and any baking or grill trays removed and thoroughly cleaned
  • Loose debris and carbon build-up carefully scraped where safe
  • Build-up removed from inside the oven, including the top and sides where accessible
  • Oven door cleaned, including between glass panels where possible and where manufacturer guidance allows

Please note: Some oven doors cannot be safely dismantled, and some finishes may not be suitable for strong degreasers or caustic products. We will follow safety guidance and avoid methods that may damage the appliance.

Extractor Hood

  • Accessible exterior surfaces cleaned and degreased
  • Controls and accessible high-touch areas cleaned
  • Grease filters removed and cleaned where suitable
  • Accessible filter housing cleaned where safe to do so
  • Filters replaced once clean and dry

Please note: Some extractor filters may require replacement rather than cleaning. We cannot dismantle extractor units beyond the removal of accessible filters or carry out repairs to faulty appliances.

Hob

  • Accessible hob surfaces thoroughly cleaned and degreased
  • Accessible food residue, grease and build-up removed where suitable
  • Controls and accessible surrounding areas cleaned
  • Gas pan supports, burner caps and removable burner components removed and cleaned where applicable
  • Accessible areas beneath removable gas components cleaned where safe to do so
  • Ceramic, induction and glass hobs cleaned using suitable non-abrasive methods
  • Removable components replaced correctly once clean and dry

Please note: Burn marks, etched glass, scratches, heat discolouration and permanent staining may not be fully removable. We will use cleaning methods appropriate to the type of hob and avoid techniques that may cause damage.

Small Appliances

Kettle

  • Inside descaled where suitable
  • Exterior wiped over

Toaster

  • Crumb tray removed and cleaned
  • Exterior cleaned

Microwave

  • Dish removed and cleaned
  • Inside cleaned, including the top and sides
  • Accessible exterior areas cleaned, including the top

Coffee Machine

  • Exterior areas wiped over
  • Pods, trays or water catchers removed and cleaned where suitable
  • Descaled if agreed and the process is simple and safe to follow

Air Fryer

  • Drawer removed and thoroughly cleaned where suitable
  • Accessible inside and outside areas wiped over and degreased where suitable

Please note: Toaster, microwave and kettle cleaning may be included as standard within some deep cleans, and toaster and microwave wipe-downs may be included in regular cleans. Other appliance deep cleans are usually optional extras and should be agreed in advance.


We cannot restore appliances to brand new condition. Rust, mould, staining, corrosion, damaged seals, worn coatings, burn marks or permanent damage may not be fully removable. Manufacturer instructions should be available where possible, either online or as paper copies. We may refuse appliance deep cleans if we believe the appliance is faulty, unsafe, unsuitable for cleaning or if the correct cleaning method cannot be confirmed.
